George Aleck was born February 28, 1956 in Duncan, British Columbia located on Vancouver Island, Canada. George has been carving for twelve to thirteen years (1994) mainly cedar wood specializing in intricately carved Hummingbird wall hangings. George lists his uncle, Willie Good, a well-known Northwest Coast Salish Native artist, as his teacher. George reveals that his carving style was greatly influenced by his uncle's.
