Olaigie Adla was born in Cape Dorset, Nunavut Territory, Canada in 1978.

His father is Novolia Parr and mother is Seemee Adla. Olaigie has been an apprentice to Nuna Parr and helping him with Nuna's carvings of Bears. Also works with Ashevak Adla - all their Bears being very similar. His father Novolia is son of the late Kovinaktilliak (Kov) Parr a renowned artist.

He is currently in Iqaluit enrolled in the DIAND program.
